T&T Soca Warriors moved closer to the final round of the CONCACAF 2026 World Cup qualifying phase when they defeated St. Kitts and Nevis 6-2 in an exciting encounter at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad.

Dante Sealy netted two goals on debut for Soca Warriors. In addition to the 22-year-old Sealy, who scored in the 29th and 66th, Levi Garcia (ninth), captain Kevin Molino (48th penalty), and substitutes Ajani Fortune (85th) and Nathaniel James (89th) also scored a goal each for the host to break out of a 2-2 half-time score.

Gvaune Amory (27th) and Tiquanny Williams (45th) scored St. Kitts & Nevis’s first-half goals.

In the pre-match build-up, Spartak Moscow striker Garcia, who last played for T&T in a 2-2 draw against Grenada at the same venue last June, emphasized that his team needed a massive win.

Garcia netted the first goal within nine minutes of the start. However, 17 minutes later, Garcia missed a golden chance to double his team’s lead when goalkeeper Julani Archibald stopped his penalty.

Minutes later, Gvaune Amory silenced the T&T supporters when he scored for St. Kitts & Nevis.

Sealy, the son of former T&T striker Scott Sealy, restored T&T’s lead with a close-range finish in the 29th minute, but with three minutes left in the half, Tiquanny Williams leveled the score with a left-footed free kick.

In the second half, T&T refocused while Ajani Fortune and Andre Raymond replaced midfielder Andre Rampersad and defender Darnell Hospedales.

Molino converted a penalty within three minutes, putting T&T back on top.

Garcia and Sealy both had presentable chances stopped by the St. Kitts-Nevis goalkeeper. However, in the 66th minute, Sealy finally scored the fourth goal, scoring 4-2.

With victory in sight, Yorke replaced Garcia with James in the 76th minute, and James assisted for Fortune to register the fifth goal. Four minutes later, James found the back of the net to fire the Soca Warriors to the group’s top with seven points.

T&T won their second campaign and will play Costa Rica in their next game, while St. Kitts-Nevis will go up against Grenada and Bahamas vs Costa Rica.

In the end, the top two teams will advance to the next stage of the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers.
