West Indies’ left-hander Sherfane Rutherford has made a significant upward leap in the most recent ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings following his impressive century against Bangladesh in the first match of the series.
Rutherford’s blistering 113 has carried him up 62 spots in the rankings, placing him 31st, joining the Netherlands’ Scott Edwards in the same position.
Rutherford’s rise in the ICC Men’s rankings was not the only good news for the West Indies. ODI Captain Shai Hope also moved up one place to eighth spot among the batters. Hope is well known for his consistency with the bat, so it was no surprise.
Meanwhile, West Indies left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie climbed four spots to ninth on the ODI bowlers’ list, showcasing his all-around brilliance and leaping to joint-36th position among all-rounders.
In the Test arena, England’s Harry Brook dethroned teammate Joe Root as the top batter. Brook’s recent performances have promoted him to the highest level of the Men’s Test batting rankings.
India continues to dominate in the Test bowling and all-rounder categories. Jasprit Bumrah remains firmly at the top of the bowlers’ list, while Ravindra Jadeja continues to hold on to his crown as the leading all-rounder in Test cricket.
Australia’s Travis Head is the top T20 batter, while Englan’s Adil Rashid is the top-ranked bowler in T20 cricket.
