Reggae Sumfest CEO Josef “Joe” Bogdanovich confirmed on Monday that Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter Moliy, who has captivated the world with her viral hit “Shake It To The Max,” has been added to the impressive roster for Reggae Sumfest 2025.
The event is slated for Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, from Sunday, July 13, to Saturday, July 19, at Catherine Hall Stadium and the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex.
“‘Jamaica loves Shake It To The Max’,” Bogdanovich told Caribbean Life. “It is the biggest song on the island right now.”
Bogdanovich said he met Moliy in New York at Vybz Kartel’s historic back-to-back sold-out concerts in Brooklyn.
“I knew I wanted her at Reggae Sumfest,” he said. “We signed the contract soon after, and, as they say, the rest is history.”
Bogdanovich said Moliy will join Yung Bredda and Marcy Chin on Thursday, July 13, at the inaugural Global Fete at Catherine Hall Stadium.
He said the same night will feature a “high-energy clash” between sound system titans Tony Matterhorn and Notorious Sound.
Regarding Global Fete, Bogdanovich added, “We’re introducing it for the first time this year to highlight the fusion of Afrobeats, hip-hop, reggae, and dancehall.”
Moliy said “Shake It To The Max” began as a simple song and dance posted on social media.
She said the song quickly went viral on TikTok, becoming her second charting song.
Moliy said the remix with Shenseea and Skillibeng boosted “Shake It To The Max’s” global success. It topped the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart at #6 and entered the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart, UK Indie Chart, US Rhythmic Chart, and US World Digital Song Sales chart.
Moliy said the track has accumulated over 4.4 million streams across platforms and caught the attention of major industry figures.
Vybz Kartel also added his signature touch in a remix with Moliy and Silent Addy.
Bogdanovich said music fans worldwide are “officially counting down to festival week.
“We promise seven days of non-stop energy, culture, and world-class performances,” he said.
Bogdanovich said Tarrus Riley, Masicka, and Vybz Kartel are confirmed as the festival’s headline acts for its two main nights – Friday, Jul. 18, and Saturday, July 19—at Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex.
The full lineup includes Tommy Lee Sparta, Govana, Skeng, D’Yani, Laden, Shaneil Muir, Jah Fabio, Protoje, Lila Iké, Fantan Mojah, I-Wayne, Pressure, and Bugle.
Bogdanovich said each artist represents “a cornerstone of Jamaica’s rich musical legacy,” ensuring fans “an unforgettable experience beneath the Montego Bay stars.”
