Brooklyn reggae artist Minna LaFortune drops ‘Weekend Vibes’

Brooklyn-based reggae artist Minna LaFortune on Tuesday dropped her latest single, “Weekend Vibes,” a captivating fusion of Amapiano grooves and Caribbean soul.

This track marks a dynamic evolution in LaFortune’s musical journey, offering listeners an uplifting anthem that celebrates relaxation, joy and the universal love for weekend festivities. 

“Weekend Vibes” seamlessly blends the rhythmic elements of Amapiano with LaFortune’s signature reggae flair. 

The song’s infectious chorus—“Weekend Vibes, go with the flow / Let the music take control over your body and soul”—invites audiences to immerse themselves in the rhythm and let go of the week’s stresses.

Jamaican-born LaFortune told Caribbean Life that her inspiration for the track stems from a desire to unite diverse musical influences and cultures. 

“I wanted to create a song that resonates with everyone, no matter where they’re from,” she said. “’Weekend Vibes’ is about embracing the moment, dancing freely, and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.”

LaFortune said “Weekend Vibes” is also featured on her forthcoming album, “Dance with Me Volume 11”, set to be released in June.

She said the album continues her mission of creating music that resonates deeply with her audience, blending genres and themes to reflect her diverse musical influences and experiences.
