Book Swap: Sisters in Public Health, New York City and Long Island Chapter, will host a Feb. 1, Black History Month Book Swap, at Jacx&Co. Youth Talent: Celebrating Black History, Consuming Fire Ministries International Inc., will showcase the talents of youth through a Feb. 1 afternoon of art, music, and dance. The event will be held in the auditorium of Curtis Estabrook School, 101-24 Seaview Ave., Brooklyn. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Showtime is 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Black Cultural Expressions: First Saturday, Feb. 1 at Brooklyn Museum, will celebrate Black artists with roots from Bed-Stuy to Bayou Country who have shaped art, music, film, and other cultural expressions.

Youth Performance: The Queens Book Fair and Literary Festival Inc. and the Office of Adult and Continuing Education NYC will host an eventful program featuring youth performance of music, poetry and speeches, on Feb. 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Happy Healthy Heart Day: The Healthy Choices Healthy Living and Heart to Heart, are joining forces to celebrate Happy Healthy Heart Day on Feb. 8, at Trinity Baptist Church, 179 New York Ave. in Brooklyn.
The 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. forum, will address cardiovascular disease, the number one killer, according to Dr. Matthew Jones who will bring fresh understanding to help optimize the health of the heart.
Attendees will learn simple effective energy-based lifestyle tools and technologies to help loved ones revive and thrive and keep the heart happy and healthy.
Other speakers will include Eden Energy Medicine Clinical Practitioners, Rev. Marline (Pastor Joy), and Sonya Lowe, and Marilyn King-George, Certified Health Coach and Microbiologist Technologists.

Black Cultural Legacy: The Museum of the City of New York and the NYC Public Advocates Office will celebrate the rich and vibrant legacy of Black culture, history, and contributions to New York City, on Feb. 8, at 11 a.m., at the museum’s 1220 5th Ave., location.
This intergenerational event will showcase the diverse narratives of Black New Yorkers, past and present, through a blend of storytelling, music, art, and discussion geared towards families, adults, and visitors of all ages, under the theme: Roots and Rise a NYC Black History celebration.
Attendees will also engage with exhibitions highlighting the pioneering figures and communities that shaped the city.

Free Concert: Music lovers will be treated to a free concert at the Central Brooklyn Public Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza, on Feb. 9, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The choirs of St. Luke and St. Mathew will bring joy to celebrants at a musical celebration of Black History Month on Feb. 9, at the 520 Clinton Ave. Church Hall in Brooklyn.
The commemoration will commence at 4 p.m. and feature choral music by black artists and composers. A $25 donation is suggested.
Violinists Ashley Horne, Claire Chan, and William Frampton will perform works by past and living Black composers.

Harlem Chamber Players: The Schomburg Center will present the Harlem Chamber Players’ 17th Annual Black History Month celebration. The event will take place on Feb. 13, from 6:30 p.m. The featured guests are, cellist-composer Akau Dixon, and soprano Candice Hoyes.

Leadership Forum: The Caribbean American Society of New York (CASONY), in honor of Black History Month, will present a leadership forum, themed: A time to Act; Marcus Garvey and the Legacy of Black Freedom, set for Feb.21.

Canarsie Lions Celebration: The Canarsie Lions Club will host its 2nd Annual Black History Month celebration, a free admission event on Feb. 22, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Canarsie Ascend/Holy Family Auditorium, located at 9719 Flatlands Ave., (entrance on Conklin Avenue).

Prospect Park Alliance, a non-profit that sustains Prospect Park, and the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, a valued partner dedicated to healing, and empower communities impacted by gun violence, will on Feb. 26, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. host a Black History Month event, under the theme, “Peace Over Prejudice.”
Black History Recognition: Participants will enjoy and afternoon of painting, history, food, and community at the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park.
